Dr. Bahar Jafari Boroujerdi
Though I had practiced medical pathology in Iran for many years, I was unaware of how important genomic testing could be in understanding my own cancer diagnosis. This reflects how new and often inaccessible this information still is. Through my daughter’s MSc studies at UBC, we both gained a deeper understanding of how genomic insights can support more informed decisions, including exploring targeted therapies and clinical trial options. During my time in the palliative unit, she began creating an educational company to share what we had learned, so others might access this valuable information too. The content is intended for informational purposes only and does not provide medical advice.

Central to our educational work is a commitment to inclusivity and equity. We recognize that access to genomic knowledge and resources remains uneven across communities. By designing educational materials that reflect diverse needs and addressing barriers such as language, literacy, and systemic bias, we strive to ensure that the benefits of genomic science are accessible to all, regardless of background or identity.
